The passing of Grandison

The passing grandison was not only a very interesting story to read about it it also ende in a twist I would of never expected. It first gets interesting when his slave owners son tries to free him in an effort to win the heart of some lady by doing a good deed and going to extreme measures to do that. And even more humerus is how once in the North Grandison makes no attempt to run away and become free. This is a very different approach a writer does to interest the readers, in that only was it not expected it is unheard of. Until he decides to flat out leave him and just to force him to accept the freedom that now embraced him. And after he accomplished all that he Grandison the old slave walks many miles just to get back to his old master and son or so it seemed. Funny and ironic he leaves (grandison) when his owner does not expect it and flees to the north taking his family with him on to freedom.

The Open Boat

The Open boat to me was a very complex and inspiring story. As the 4 men were stuck and trapped on a boat they never gave up hope believing that in some way they could be saved. As the story started off with all four men stuck at sea as a result of a mishap that occurred on their ship the captain, correspondent, cook and oilier all played a key role in the success of getting to the point of trying in some way to get help or reach land. Yet the story was sad in a way in that it was depressing to visualize the men stuck at sea and making every effort to escape the harshness of the sea at some point it got pretty boring. Also it was inspiring like I once stated because they triuphed over diversity and stared death in the eye knowing that they only had a small chance of making it to landing. The end of the story was baffling because the oilier died even though he honestly contributed the most to offer in the safety of himself and the men. To make a long story short I enjoyed the reading even though at some point I was not interested in reading the whole story.
